The Greek Festival is Hampton Road's oldest and largest ethnic festival. It started yesterday. It includes the traditional Greek cuisine, exciting entertainment, arts and crafts, beautiful jewelry, a cooking school and the very popular drive-thru!
I personally am very exited about the cooking school. It will be held 3-4 p.m., Saturday, May 16, in the meeting room of the Social Hall.
The one-hour class will involve the preparation of the various Greek foods
served at the festival, such as Baklava and Spanakopita. I LOVE BAKLAVA.
Learn more about Orthodox Christian faith by taking the tour of the Cathedral and by attending the various workshops held during the festival.
Lots and lots of dancing shows. Click here for full schedule

Tere - It looks like a great event! I wish I could go with you but in NY for family stuff.
Hi Tere: Mmmm Food - wish I wasn't so far away!
:)
I haven't been to a Greek Festival since I left Texas back in 1993. In fact, in thinking about this, I can't remember ever seeing any advertisements about ethnic festivals here in San Diego. Hmmm.
So the question is after the cooking school are you going to share some recipes with us?
I missed the cooking school. I had a baby shower to go to, but I will be going there this afternoon. There is tons of things going on this weekend, but it is raining today.
Sounds like fun! There is a Greek neighborhood in Denver that has a small sized festival, but have not gotten to attend yet!
